I'm a Guild Wars fan. Haven't played in ages though and only recently got back into it. Mesmers are awesome beyond words. We all know it's going to be the 8th class for GW2 because if it isn't I hope ArenaNets offices are heavily fortified to fend off the inevitable angry mob.

Anyways, never used the skill myself but I always liked the concept of the Soothing Images skill. A fearsome warrior's mind is clouded by images of past loves, times of comfort and safety and just can't focus. Then he is cut down. Mesmers are sadistic like that. Love 'em.

Oh, and if any ArenaNet devs read this when you release the Mesmer (don't play coy) or whatever derivation, make it so that they can wield a sword in their main hand. I ask this for one reason. The original picture of the female mesmer in character creation is shown to be carrying a rapier or epee. Single. Coolest. Look. Ever.

It probably wont be Mesmer. I think it will be a whole new class, that has the feel of a Mesmer. ANet is creative like that. I believe the last prof will be even more unique than the Mesmer of GW1. Why would ANYONE want the same thing again? Thinking outside the box, thats something that ANet does well.

This is great! I like expanding on the idea of the skill. Lots of the mesmer skills were really intriguing... I think we can confidently assume the last profession is at least going to be similar, like the thief is to the assassin.

The swirly smoke stuff is a really lovely touch. This is really clever, keep it up. I'd like to see something else similar in the future!

I totally agree!! This is lovely, and I love mesmers and would totally storm ANet if they're not in the game.

(really, they should be... the human queen is said to be one in the books...)

Yeah, and they call her a mesmer by name. So they HAVE to have mesmers.... otherwise rabid fans will attack.

I absolutely agree with being able to wield a sword! I mean yeah you can in GW1 as well, but it's not very safe. xD And there are no rapiers in the game, and all the other swords look so clumsy.

But anyways, this is so pretty! I love the spiraling smoke(?) effect and the colors and everything. Only thing I'd perhaps like to see would be more sharp detail on the human figures so that they would match the sharpness of the smoke, but meh. This is absolutely gorgeous either way.

Aw thanks! Yeah, fingers crossed for GW2 eh? I probably would've added a bit more detail to the figures but there are only some really basic brushes avaliable. I'm using PS7 because I'm poor and can't afford a shiny copy of CS

There may come a day when I redo this, thanks though!
